In the late 90s I contributed 40 or 50 posts/articles to washingtonpost.com. These were mostly about upcoming concerts. Reading some of these now makes me cringe, but at the time I took my assignments very seriously. I’d even buy bands’ CDs before writing about them. I think I was paid something like $25 an article, so this was a losing proposition, but it was still fun.
